Dr. Ann Canty
Associate Provost and Associate Professor of Business
Dr. Canty responds to a variety of student concerns that reach the Provost's office and also acts as liaison between the office and the Department of Human Resources, especially in connection with the processing of e-forms. Additionally, she has oversight of the Academic Support Center.
Dr. Maurice Eftink
Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School, Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry
Dr. Eftink oversees a wide variety of issues relating to the Graduate School, graduate students, and faculty. As Dean of the Graduate School, he is responsible for reviewing all applications for tenure and promotion by faculty. He also responds to issues relating to accreditation and assessment, and he acts as liaison between the office of the Provost and the department of Information Technology. In addition, Dr. Eftink chairs the Graduate Council.
Dr. Michael Metcalf
Associate Provost for International Affairs and Professor of History
Dr. Metcalf oversees the conclusion of agreements between the University and partner universities abroad, administers the Chinese Language Flagship in collaboration with Professor Donald Dyer, and administers the ROTC Chinese Language & Culture Program. Dr. Metcalf also oversees the University's participation in the Boren Scholarship, Boren Fellowship, and Institute for International Public Policy Fellowship programs.
Dr. Noel Wilkin
Associate Provost and Associate Professor of Pharmacy Administration, and Research Associate Professor in RIPS
Prior to joining the Provost’s office, he served as Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Administration and Director of the Center for Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management in the School of Pharmacy. Dr. Wilkin chairs the Strategic Planning Council, serves on the Crisis Action Team, and serves as secretary of the Council of Academic Administrators. He also assists the Provost in matters dealing with the academic budget, academic issues, office space, and research centers.
Dr. Tim Angle
Assistant Provost for Summer School and Outreach and Director, Summer Session
Dr. Angle oversees the administration of the University's off-campus centers in Tupelo and Southaven, the university's study abroad programs, a variety of noncredit programs offered through the University, and the University's summer classes.
Dr. Donald Cole
Assistant Provost and Assistant to the Chancellor Concerning Minority Affairs, Associate Professor of Mathematics
Dr. Cole oversees a variety of issues relating to minority affairs at the University of Mississippi, including minority student and faculty recruitment and retention. Dr. Cole also leads the Ronald McNair Program and the NSF Alliance for Minority Participation at the University and he co-directs the Alliance for Graduate Education.
Susan Foust
Executive Assistant
Ms. Foust is executive assistant to Dr. Morris Stocks. She coordinates the Provost’s schedule, arranges meetings and works closely with the Provost on a variety of projects and special initiatives. She acts as a liaison to students, faculty, and various administrative units. Among other duties, Mrs. Foust is responsible for official reports, presentations, and the Provost’s professional correspondence.
Ginger Harrell
Executive Assistant
Ms. Harrell is executive assistant to Dr. Maurice Eftink and Dr. Ann Canty. She also monitors financial accounts for the Office of the Provost and is responsible for processing budget revisions, g/l transfers, requests for payments and travel documents. In addition, Ms. Harrell assists with issues relating to faculty recruitment, new faculty orientation, TACIT, teacher-course evaluations and the academic common market.
Shirley Pegues
Executive Assistant
Ms. Pegues is executive assistant to Dr. Noel Wilkin. She also coordinates information provided by the Provost's office to the IHL Board. In addition, Ms. Pegues serves as coordinator for the Council of Academic Administrators and Undergraduate Council and processes applications for tenure, promotion, and sabbaticals.
