The Psychological Assessment Clinic provides assessment services to the communities surrounding the University. Some common reasons for assessment include: evaluation of learning difficulties, evaluation of problems related to the ability to sustain attention and concentration, educational planning, evaluation of emotional difficulties, treatment planning, and evaluation of functioning following trauma or injury.

In addition to community service, part of the mission of the University of Mississippi is education and research. Our examiners are doctoral students in clinical psychology whose work is supervised by a licensed psychologist. Information obtained from testing may often be presented in a group supervision meeting, and conclusions and recommendations are made only after consulting with supervisors. Evaluations may be observed by other Assessment Clinic staff, unobtrusively, through one-way mirrors. Summaries of evaluations may be used for educational or research purposes, but in no case will clients be identified. In the educational and research uses specified above, all information you provide will be confidential.
