| Annual Health Risk Update |
Research involving pathogens, DNA, and/or human blood, other bodily fluids, or tissue requires approval of the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC.) The researcher must submit an “IBC Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement” and protocol to Dr. Michael Mossing (email M. Mossing; 915-5339), Chair, Institutional Biosafety Committee, 452 Coulter Hall, for review and approval prior to conducting the research.
Please read the UM Policies and Procedures for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research before filling out IRB forms. IRB forms may be submitted as e-mail attachments to irb@research.olemiss.edu. However, pages with required signatures must be faxed to 915-7577 before review can begin. Please note: All faxed documents should include a fax cover sheet indicating the number of pages that are being faxed. Forms can be also delivered to the IRB Office in 100 Barr Hall.
