General Admission Information

Prospective students should understand that admission to the Master of Social Work Program is competitive, limited in number, and dependent upon the availability of faculty. Meeting the above requirements does not guarantee admission.

The Regular Standing MSW Program is designed to be a 3-year program where students complete 9 hours per fall and spring semesters and 6 hours during the summer until the courses (60 hours) are completed.  Students are admitted every three years.  The first class entered in the fall of 2008; the next class will enter in the fall 2011 and so on.  Students who meet the requirements for the Advanced Standing Program can complete coursework in 2 years and began in the program in the summer 2009; the next class will enter in the summer 2012.

Admission Requirements (Regular)

In addition to meeting regular Graduate School requirements, students seeking Regular admission to the Master of Social Work Program must meet or submit the following:

 Application deadline: April 1.

Admission Requirements (Advanced Standing)

The application deadline for Advanced Standing is January 15.
