Elder Atwater and Earl Richardson.  This picture shows Elder Atwater sharing a laugh with his longtime friend Earl Richardson.  Elder Atwater is seated in the front seat of his red minivan, a vehicle he was very fond of.  He used it to take his wife Nancy to work, to get to Rocky Mount on fourth Sunday, and often to take church members to Primitive Baptist churches further afield on second and third Sundays.
