Mothers of the church.  Louise Ballentine (in white hat) and Savannah Redmond, shown here after services at Hurricane Creek, are longtime members of their churches.  Each holds the title of “Mother of the Church” — Mrs. Ballentine at Rocky Mount and Mrs. Redmond at Hurricane Creek.  Mrs. Redmond is Elder Atwater’s niece.
