Guest preacher at Rocky Mount.  The churches of the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Association gather every September for their annual Union Meeting.  The 2000 meeting was held at Rocky Mount.  It was a busy weekend: Primitive Baptist clergymen from throughout the South preached day and night; the Association held its business meeting; and everyone enjoyed lots of good food and fellowship.  This picture shows Elder R. L. Tatum of Spearsville, Louisiana, delivering a Saturday morning sermon.  At the time of his death, Elder Atwater had served as Moderator of the Clear Creek Primitive Baptist Association for many years.
