Members of the Sparks Family Singers (from left: Peggy Sparks Adams, Dalton Sparks, and Brian Sparks) playing at their weekly practice/jam session on the Sparks Family homeplace near Belmont in Tishomingo County. The group, made up of the three Sparks siblings and other relatives and friends, has been performing together since 1972, making appearances at festivals, church homecomings, and other events throughout northeastern Mississippi. The Sparks Family Singers have a unique sound among bluegrass gospel groups, due to Peggy Adam’s accordion and Brian Sparks’ extremely high tenor singing.
