Jim Jones Memorial
Scholarship Fund

The Center is pleased to announce the establishment of the Jim Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund. James and Sharon Jones of Houston, Texas, have chosen to memorialize their son, Jim Jones, with a gift of $10,000 over the next five years. The fund will benefit students who pursue a degree in Southern Studies.

Jim Jones received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi in 1989. He is remembered for his passion for Southern culture--both in and out of the classroom. Upon finishing his studies at the University of Mississippi, he joined Youth with a Mission and served as a missionary to Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Russia. The Center is proud to honor the memory of one of its former students with this fund, which will provide support to those students who have a proven record of academic excellence. Contributions to the Jim Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund may be made to the Center or to the University of Mississippi Office of University Advancement, Post Office Box 249, University, MS 38677.
