An exhibition of 20-30 photographs depicting the everyday lives of residents
at North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford will open at Barnard Observatory
on January 11, 1998, during a reception from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Michael
Bailey made the photographs while a student in Tom Rankin's course on the
Southern Cultural Landscape during the 1997 Spring Semester. As part of
his documentary project, Bailey spent one month of intensive observation
at NMRC photographing what he describes as the everyday lives of extraordinary
people. The exhibition will continue through February and may be viewed
during the Center's regular hours, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and
at other times by request.
