The SSRL modeled the economic impact of UMMC and its graduates throughout the state of Mississippi. Our analysis examined the economic changes associated with adding additional graduates in the various counties and legislative districts of the state along withe current and future economic impact of the Medical Center and its associated schools and colleges.
Mississippi Alliance for Prevention (Evaluation Component)

The Mississippi Alliance for Prevention (MAP) is a 3-year, $3 million per year State-Incentive Grant awarded by the US Department of Health and Human Services to the state of Mississippi. This grant funds 24 science-based prevention programs for reducing the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs by children and adolescents. The SSRL is responsible for evaluating the prevention activities of these programs and the overall impact of the MAP project at both the state and community levels. Survey of Public Attitudes toward Mississippi Judiciary

The SSRL developed and administered a phone survey to a representative sample of households in the state of Mississippi. The survey questionnaire asked citizens about their experiences with and attitudes toward the Mississippi judicial system. SSRL faculty analyzed the survey results and presented these findings and associated policy recommendations in a final report delivered to the Mississippi Judicial Advisory Study Committee.
National Validation of Team Nutrition Database

Funding originates from US Department of Agriculture but is administered by the National Food Service Management Institute.
Team Nutrition is a program administered by the US Department of Agriculture that promotes healthy eating and physical activity in elementary and secondary schools across the country. The SSRL is contacting schools enrolled in the Team Nutrition program to update the USDA database of contact information and to establish email contact with Team Nutrition leaders. This national validation is an extension of a 3-state pilot project conducted by the SSRL from October 2001 - January 2002.
