Substance Abuse Services

We at the University Counseling Center understand that alcohol abuse (take our online quiz) can be a significant problem on college campuses.  Our philosophy is one of acceptance, respect, compassion and support for the individuals we serve.

Al-Anon Meetings are held each Wednesday in the Group Room of the Counseling Center at 5:30 p.m.   No need to call first, but if you have questions please contact Amy Fisher at (662)915-3784.

 

Crossroads is an intensive alcohol and drug early intervention program tailored to meet individual needs and goals.  Students meet several times per week in psycho-educational groups, process groups, and individual sessions. 

 

Crossroads offers an affordable alternative to leaving school to seek treatment.  Our goal is to help the students incorporate treatment gains into their daily lives while learning to balance academic and social obligations. For more information, please contact Amy Fisher at (662)915-3784.

Early Intervention Support Group is for students seeking to modify alcohol and drug use habits.  For more information, please contact Amy Fisher or Keysha Thomas at (662)915-3784.

 

Oasis is a once-weekly support group for students who are making a change and trying to establish or maintain an alcohol -free and drug-free way of life.  Oasis meets at the Counseling Center at 5 p.m. each Wednesday.  For more information, please contact Amy Fisher or Morgan Litchfield at (662)915-3784.


Formal Substance Abuse Evaluations and Assessments are available.
