Current Students
The staff of the Department of Student Housing would like to welcome you to the Ole Miss residence hall community. Our mission is to offer an environment that is conducive to sleep and study for all on-campus students at all hours of the day and night. As such, much responsibility is placed on you to ensure that the mission is achieved. Research shows that those students who live on campus are much more successful academically and have a higher retention rate than those students who live off campus. Due to this research, the university has a strong commitment to the on-campus living component.
It is important that you get to know your Resident Assistant (RA) or Resident Manager (RM). These staff members live on the floors in each residence hall and apartment complex. Each RA's or RM's responsibility is to provide leadership, assistance, and support to residents and the other members of the floor or building. The RA or RM is the primary resource for information and assistance.
Other resources include the Student Housing Handbook, The Village Handbook, and the Campus Walk handbook, which are available online at the links below. The handbook for your residential community will answer most of your questions and contains many of the policies that have been designed to facilitate cooperative community living. It is also important for you to attend periodic floor meetings called by your RA or RM as well as to check your Ole Miss email account. If we can be of further assistance to you, please call the office at 662-915-7328, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or e-mail housing@olemiss.edu.We wish you great success during your tenure here at Ole Miss!
