Desk Receptionists
The desk receptionist holds a student hourly appointment to provide service at the hall desk for residents, visitors and staff. The desk receptionist (DR) is supervised by the residence hall director (RHD). The specific responsibilities for each DR will vary from area to area and will be assigned by the RHD.

Summer is almost here and once again it is time to begin our recruitment of volunteers for our August Residence Hall Move-In. This year’s process will consist of one very busy day. The date and time is Thursday, August 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We will need lots of volunteers to help in various capacities.

Housing Ambassador (Student Tours and Recruitment)
Housing Ambassadors are volunteer student tour guides for the Department of Student Housing and Residence Life. Ambassadors take prospective students and their families on a tour of the Ole Miss residence halls and showcase sample rooms.

Residence Life Conduct Board

The purpose of the Residence Life Conduct Board will be to give students who are documented in the residence halls a chance to have their case heard by a panel of their peers.
Hearing Panel: The panel will consist of 5 members. Eligibility for a panel member will be determined by the following two qualifications.
1. The student must have been an on campus resident for at least 1 semester
2. The student must not have any current judicial cases
Members will be selected during the first two weeks of the semester and have training. The panel will begin to hear cases throughout the academic year. Training will consist of a full day of learning about judicial philosophies, differences between student conduct and the legal system, hearing process training, FERPA, finding of responsibility and sanctions and active listening and questioning techniques.
