Resolving Roommate Issues

Q If I don’t like my roommate, can I change my room assignment?
A Yes, if space is available.

Q When can I change my room assignment?
A The housing office can do it in July if space is available, or you can do it 12 class days after school starts in the fall if space is available.

Should you wish to request a building and/or roommate change simply log into http://my.olemiss.edu. Once logged in select the “Housing” tab, then “Open Application” and finally "Room/Roommate Change Request”.

Q How do I change rooms?
A The room change process occurs in two phases, in-hall changes and between building changes. In-hall room changes occur on the 12th class day. You will need to speak to your hall director to see what spaces are available and get the proper paper work to move. Between building changes occur the Sunday night after in-hall changes. You may contact the Office of Student Housing to find out what spaces are available in each building. Any other room changes are processed on a case-by-case basis and you will need to see your Area Coordinator for more infomation.

Q How do I go about changing my room assignment?
A Directions will be on the fliers in the hall .

Q What if my roommate and I start to have problems later in the semester?
A If you do not get along with your roommate, the first person you should talk to is your resident assistant. If the problem persists, you should speak with your hall director.

Please direct your questions toward housing at housing@olemiss.edu or 662-915-7328.
