Actors
Actors should prepare 2 monologues, each of them 60-90 seconds long and from contemporary plays or films. One should be comic, the other serious. Singing is not required, but if it is a strength, you may perform up to 24 bars from any Broadway musical. If you plan to sing, bring with you an accompaniment CD or cassette tape.
After all the prepared material has been presented, those auditioning will be taught a short movement combination, so an appropriate change of clothes should be brought.
Designers/Stage Managers
Designers and theatre technicians should be prepared to present their portfolio, explaining concepts and design approaches where appropriate. You should also be prepared to answer questions about techniques employed and processes followed.
Stage Managers will be asked to present at least one prompt book for examination and should also be prepared to answer questions about the kind of lighting and sound equipment you are familiar with. |
