Paula Dawson, Visiting Assistant Professor
Paula is a visiting assistant professor of voice and acting. She received her MFA in Dramatic Art from the University of California, Davis, where she was also an instructor. She has extensive training in voice for the theatre; dialect work as a performer and instructor; and physical theatre, such as Clown, Character Mask, and Mime. Co-founder and artistic director of the theatre companies soulfishing and Stage Left/Will Act for Food Theatre Collective, she has worked as an actor, director, and writer in theatre and film for ten years. She is also the co-creator of Tornadotheatre.com, experimental, interactive Web cast live theatre productions. Her directing work includes Speed the Plow, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, This Property is Condemned, and Disembodiment, for which she was also the playwright. As an actor, Paula has been in numerous theatre, film, and television roles.
