Rory Ledbetter, Assistant Professor
Rory Ledbetter is Assistant Professor of Voice and Acting.
He received an MFA in Theatre Directing from Florida State
University and a BA in Theatre from Brenau University. He
has extensive training in acting for the camera, comedic
improvisation, and the Linklater voice progression. He worked at TVI Actors Studio in Los
Angeles as an Acting Career Coach and then served as
Visiting Assistant Professor of Directing and Stage
Management at the University of Alabama. Rory's directing
credits include The Shape of Things by Neil Labute, The
Playboy of the Western World by J.M. Synge, Two Gents: The
Musical by John Guare and Galt MacDermot, and a film
documentary entitled The Theatre Director. Rory has
performed as a stand-up comedian, an improvisor, and a
voice-over artist. In addition to various short films and
commercials, he has acted for Crown City Theatre, Theatre
Tuscaloosa, and Paramount's Carowinds. His favorite roles
include Lucentio in Taming of the Shrew, David O. Selznick
in Moonlight & Magnolias, Simon Stimson in Our Town, and
Auntie Nathan in Lobrau Productions' Toupydoops Live.
