Valerie Wilson, Visiting Instructor

Photo to Come Place HolderValerie did her undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, where she had the opportunity to work with Missouri Repertory Theatre (now Kansas City Repertory Theatre) in various areas of theatre production, and received her BA in Theatre in 1991. She did her graduate work at the University of Mississippi, where she received her MFA in Theatre with an Acting emphasis in 1995. She worked for two years as stage manager for the University of Mississippi’s Festival of Southern Theatre. She also spent several summers teaching children’s acting classes for the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. She has performed as an actor and served as a stage manager at the Tennessee Williams Festival in Clarksdale, MS. In addition to teaching at Ole Miss, she has also taught for Sonoma State University and for Northwest Mississippi Community College, Oxford Branch. She has acted in independent films, an internet soap opera filmed in Northern California, and has done voiceover work on video and radio projects for clients like Baptist Hospital of Northeast Mississippi and The United States Pizza Team. Some of her favorite stage roles include Dr. Livingstone in Agnes of God, Catherine in Proof, and Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet for the 2007 Oxford Shakespeare Festival.
