Dance

Ole Miss Theatre offers great instruction and performance opportunities in dance. Dance classes and performance opportunities are open to students outside of the department.

• Classes in tap, ballet, jazz, modern, theatre dance, and dance composition are offered.
• Ole Miss Theatre is a member of American College Dance Festival Association. This year The University of Mississippi hosted the ACDFA Southeast Regional Conference.
• Students have the opportunity to work with nationally and internationally renowned guest teachers and choreographers.
• There are performance opportunities in two dance companies:  Showstoppers, a musical theatre performance ensemble that concludes each Ole Miss Theatre season with a spectacular revue, and Mississippi: The Dance Company, the resident modern dance company of the university. Mississippi: The Dance Company has performed four times in the ACDFA Gala Concert and was selected to perform in the National Festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
• Students, from within or outside the department, who show special ability can be awarded opportunities to choreograph.

The department does not offer a degree in dance.
