ShowstoppersThe Showstoppers company is chosen at the start of each year from the general auditions. Preference is given to students in the musical theatre emphasis of the BFA program. Each year's show consists of between fifteen and twenty numbers, more or less equally divided between dance and vocal. The numbers selected represent as wide a range of musical theatre genres as possible. Over a four-year-span, students have a chance to sing and dance to just about every kind of number seen on the Broadway stage. In May, 2006, Showstoppers celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary as the resident musical theatre company in the Department of Theatre Arts. |
