"...exhilarating...alternately hilarious and heartbreaking...." The New Yorker
Ole Miss Theatre is proud to present the regional premiere of Mr. Marmalade in our new performance space: the renovated Meek Hall Auditorium. Mr. Marmalade—debuted in 2004—takes audiences into the disturbing and hilarious world of precocious four-year-old Lucy, whose imaginary friend Mr. Marmalade takes the form of the emotionally absent, manipulative businessman with a penchant for drugs and debauchery. With a real life that's not much better, Lucy must try to free herself of her "friend" and find a safe path through childhood. Mr. Marmalade is a twistedly funny, dark, and biting take on the psychological landscape of modern childhood. Due to subject matter, it is not recommended for younger audiences.
