Death Investigation-Off Campus

 

On Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 1008 a.m., officers with the Oxford Police Department along with Baptist Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service were dispatched to Taylor Pointe Apartments located on Anderson Road in the city of Oxford in reference to a person who was non-responsive.

Officers were met by the reporting person who stated that he came over to see the victim and could not get anyone to the door. The reporting party entered the dwelling and found the victim lying on the floor and unresponsive. The person then called 911.

Lafayette County Corner Lonnie Weaver pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The victim was shot.

The Oxford Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are investigating the Homicide.

No further information will be released by the Oxford Police Department at this time.
