Message to Faculty & Staff from UPD ---------

 We wanted to mention to you some changes this year:

• Faculty/Staff -You were only issued a window decal this year.  We have discontinued the use of hangtags.  Please continue to place the window decal on the passenger’s side lower corner of the front windshield of your vehicle.
• Faculty/Staff - The decal fee is now $60; an additional decal is $10.  The cost of the initial decal will be payroll deducted over two pay periods.
• Faculty/Staff - The decal issued to you this year will be valid for two years.  While you will not be required to process the on-line vehicle registration next year for your vehicle, the same $60 payroll deduction over two pay periods will be processed for you by UPD’s Parking Services Office next year.
• Faculty/Staff - If you have a child who will be enrolled as a University student on the Ole Miss campus this fall, you can purchase a parking permit for your child/UM student at a reduced rate of $10 [rather than $60].  If you are interested, contact Terri Kitchens with Parking Services at 915-5939 or tkitchen@olemiss.edu.  The deadline to exercise this special option is August 3, 2007.
• Students - The decal fee is now $60 per vehicle.  This fee will be billed to your bursar account.  As in the past, the decal should be placed on the lower corner of driver’s side rear window of your vehicle [there are exceptions: convertibles, etc. – check with Parking Services Office].
• Other parking changes effective August 15, 2007:

-       The Union Parking Lot will be a faculty/staff only parking area from 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. weekdays.  The 30-minute parking limit has been eliminated.

-       The East Meek Parking Lot [at Student Union Drive & Cross Street] will become a 45-minute parking lot.  This lot is intended to provide short-term parking for motorists who formerly parked in the Union Parking Lot.

-       There will be no parallel parking on Student Union Drive from the entrance of the Union Parking Lot to the Walk of Champions.

-       Cross Street will become a one-way street at the rear of Holman Hall headed north to Student Union Drive.  A new 4-way stop sign intersection will be developed at Student Union Drive and Cross Street.

-       The Howry-Falkner Parking Lot [adjacent to the Howry & Falkner Residence Halls] will be student residential parking only.  Faculty/staff can no longer park in this area.  The George Parking Lot [adjacent to George Hall] will continue to be faculty/staff/client only parking.
