Campus Crime Report

The Campus Crime Report is released weekly to inform the University
community of incidents that may be a threat to public safety.

The University Police Department states the following incidents have
been reported between, Sunday, March 8, and Saturday, March 15, 2009:


LARCENY/THEFTS:

Friday, March 12, 3:57 p.m., an unattended bookbag was reported stolen in the
J. D. Williams Library.

Friday, March 12, 1:26 p.m., an unattended bookbag was reported stolen in the
J. D. Williams Library.

Tuesday, March 10, between 10:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., an unattended bookbag
was stolen from a desk in the J. D. Williams Library. The bookbag was later found
in the Library with a wallet and change purse missing.

Monday, March 9, 11:17 p.m., cash and credit cards were reported stolen from a
wallet in Guess Hall.

Monday, March 9, 12:19 p.m., a bookbag was reported stolen from the lobby area
of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity House.

 

BURGLARY:

Sunday, March 8, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., a laptop computer was stolen
from an unlocked room in Deaton Hall.

 

SUSPICIOUS PERSON:

Friday, March 13, 7:44 p.m., UPD officers responded to Crosby Hall in reference to
a suspicious male inside the the facility. The suspicious male was located, identfied,and
interviewed as to why he was inside the building. The individual had no University affialiation.
He was escorted off campus.

 

MISCELLANEOUS:

Saturday, March 14, between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., several police cars parked in the Kinard
Hall Parking Lot were vandalized (tires cut).

Friday, March 13, 1:51 p.m., a vehicle parked on Dormitory Row West was discovered
vandalized (hood keyed).

One reported incident of receiving phising email.

One reported incident of harassment.

ARRESTS:

Thursday, March 12, 7:26 p.m., a female student was charged with speeding and driving
while license suspended on University Place.

Wednesday, March 11, 2:27 p.m., a male student was arrested on a warrant issued by the
Lafayette County Justice Court.

Monday, March 9, 2:46 p.m., a female student was charged with speeding, driving without
a license and no proof of insurance on Hathorn Road.
