Kevin works on the evaluation of natural compounds and extracts from plants and marine organisms to discover the following: 1) novel selective cyanobactericides to help prevent musty off-flavor in pond-raised channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus); and 2) novel bactericides to control the bacterial catfish pathogens Edwardsiella ictaluri and Flavobacterium columnare which cause the common catfish diseases enteric septicemia of catfish (ESC) and columnaris, respectively.
