MINUTES OF THE UNDERGRADUATE COUNCIL

PRESENT: Dr. Hall, Ms. Adams, Dr. Schroeder, Dr. Van Ness for Dr. Cox, Dr. Kroeger,

ABSENT: Dr. Gispen, Dr. Leigh, Dr. Cox, Dr. Murchison, Dr. Fant, Dr. Wilkin, Mr. Upton,
Dr. Wilder, Mr. Walker, and Dr. Eftink
1. Proposed Curriculum and Course Changes for School of Applied Sciences (see Attachment #1). On a motion by Dr. Schroeder and a second by Dr. Tidwell, the Council unanimously approved the changes.
2. Proposed Curriculum and Course Changes for School of Engineering (see Attachment #2). On a motion by Dr. O’Haver and a second by Dr. McCaffrey, the Council unanimously approved the changes.
3. Proposed New Catalog Wording for Course Numbering System (see Attachment #3). The Council discussed various courses in which members thought freshmen might appropriately be enrolled, even though the courses were 300-level. Following this discussion, and on a motion by Dr. O’Haver and a second by Dr. Schroeder, the Council unanimously approved the substitute language suggested in Attachment #3, as amended by adding the phrase “or by permission of the department offering the course” to the description for 300-499 level courses.
4. Adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 1:25 p.m.
