Support for Teaching Undergraduate Writing Teaching Assistants and Graduate Instructors frequently direct undergraduate students to the Writing Center for assistance with their writing. In a typical writing consultation, students receive suggestions for development of ideas, audience consideration, organization, style, grammar, and document presentation. Undergraduate students make appointments through our online appointment calendar at www.olemiss.edu/depts/writing_center/ Validation of writing center assistance is available upon the student’s request. Due to scheduling limitations, we request that teachers not assign entire classes to obtain writing consultations. Please keep in mind that since we do not grade or otherwise rate any student work, we cannot promise any particular grade or outcome. Our mission is to help students improve their writing skills, but learning to write well is dependent on many factors, including each student’s individual effort. We cannot guarantee results.
