The Writing Center provides both individual and group writing consultations for undergraduate student writers from across the curriculum. We are pleased to offer suggestions for improvement to students at any stage of development.Below are a few suggestions for ways to include Writing Center services in the classroom.
Include us on your syllabus
When faculty members include the Writing Center on their syllabi they let students know the center can play an important role in their academic success. An example statement for promoting the Writing Center follows.
Need feedback on your writing? Visit the University Writing Center on the third floor of the J.D. Williams Library to get help during every stage of the writing process from brainstorming through the final draft. Be sure to take along a copy of the class writing assignment with your own draft.

Offer an incentive
The most effective way to motivate students to use Writing Center services is to offer a few bonus points. Upon arriving for their consultations,SPACE students MUST notify us that they need an embossed "blue slip" to return to their teachers. While requiring students to use THE Writing Center introduces them to our services, SOME students are often less engaged during writing consultations
We are always pleased to see students
