Writing a thesis or a
dissertation? Need advice or an outside reader?
The University Writing Center offers free writing consultations for
graduate students in any discipline. A graduate writing coach is
available to work specifically with students for whom English is a
second language. We read documents at any stage of development but we
ask that you allow a reasonable amount of time for us to read your
documents in advance of our meeting. Keep in mind that like your faculty
committees, our busiest times are at the end of each semester.

Graduate Seminars and Workshops
Graduate Student Seminars and Workshops provide training opportunities
to guide students through their academic programs and also encourage
professional development among graduate students from all disciplines
across the curriculum. Writing skills are strongly emphasized.
The program's goals are to support and encourage progress toward
completion of the degree program and to better prepare students for
their professional lives.
Dissertation Submission Process
The Writing Center is a site for electronic submission of
your dissertation. Doctoral students will submit two paper copies of the
dissertation and one copy on CD. All dissertation CD's must be burned on
the computers dedicated to this purpose and located in the Writing
Center or the Graduate School. When you're ready to burn, just ask for
assistance at the reception desk.
