The University of Mississippi has many scholarships that have been made available through the generous donations of alumni and friends of the university. The scholarships listed below are available for incoming freshmen and community college transfer students that plan to attend The University of Mississippi beginning Fall 2012.
Incoming freshmen who wish to be considered for scholarships must file a University of Mississippi Admission Application, and submit an online Special Programs & Scholarships Application. This application should be completed by March 1.
Transfer students should submit a University of Mississippi Admission application, and transcript that includes three semesters of grades. This should be done by the priority deadline of February 1 but no later than than March 1 prior to enrollment.
All students must be admitted to The University of Mississippi to be considered for scholarships. Some departmental and professional school awards are not included in this listing. Scholarship eligibility, criteria, and amounts may change at any time without prior notice.

W. R. Newman Scholarship

Luckyday Scholarship
- Award Amount: $8,000-$20,000 ($2,000-$5,000 per year)
- Eligibility: Entering freshman from Mississippi with 20 ACT or higher (940 SAT), 3.2 or higher GPA and remaining financial need after considering other scholarships or grants. Selection is competitive and considers grades, test scores, financial need, leadership, activities, and the Luckyday essay. 75 new freshmen are chosen each year.

Army ROTC Scholarship

To be eligible for any scholarships listed below, students must be transferring to Ole Miss directly from community college. A minimum of 48 community college hours must be accepted for transfer. The calculation of this transfer GPA will include the grades from all prior colleges attended.
Lyceum Scholar Awards
- Award Amount: Full resident tuition for two year ($5790 for the 2011-12 year)
- Eligibility: Community College Transfer students with at least a 3.0 transfer GPA on at least 48 transferable community college credit hours and an exemplary record of leadership and service.

- Award Amount: $1000 per year for two years

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
- Award Amount: $6,000 ($3,000 per year for two years)
- Eligibility: Transfer students with a 3.5 GPA on at least 48 transferable community college credit hours and membership in Phi Theta Kappa. Members of the All Mississippi Team will receive an additional one-time only $1,000 scholarship and an additional $1,000 one-time only scholarship will be awarded to those students who become members of the All American Team.

Luckyday University Scholarship
- Award Amount: $9,200 (upto $4,600 per year)
- Eligibility:
These scholarships are awarded to a select group of 25 community college transfer students with a 2.5 overall GPA on at least 48 transferable community college credit hours. Student’s receiving this award must be resident of Mississippi and must be transferring from Mississippi community college. In addition, students selected must have remaining financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal student Aid (FAFSA) after other scholarships and grants have been awarded.

Community College Academic Excellence Scholarship
- Award Amount: $3,000 ($1,500 per year for two years)
- Eligibility: These scholarships are awarded to community college transfer students with a 3.0 overall transfer GPA or higher and 48 transferable community college credit hours. Students must be enrolled full-time to receive this award.

Community College Student Body President
- Award Amount: $2,000 ($1,000 per year for two years)
- Eligibility: Community College Transfer students who served in the top elected position at their Community College. These scholarships are awarded to community college transfer students with a 3.0 overall transfer GPA or higher and 48 transferable community college credit hours. Students must be enrolled full-time to receive this award.

OSHER REENTRY Scholarship
- Award Amount: Up to $2500 per year ($1250/semester)
- Eligibility: Students who are pursuing their first baccalaureate degree; have experienced a cumulative gap in their education of five or more years since High School graduation or attainment of GED; who are enrolled at least half-time, are US Citizens between 25 and 50 years old; and have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Academic Excellence Scholarships

- Eligibility: Entering freshmen, minimum 3.0 high-school GPA. MS Residents must have a minimum 24 ACT* (1090 SAT**) Non-Resident students must achieve a minimum 3.0 high-school GPA, minimum 26 ACT* (1170 SAT**). National Merit/Achievement Semifinalists/Finalists are eligible for the Academic Excellence Scholarship National Merit/Achievement Semifinalist/Finalist Award and will not be eligible to receive this award.

Academic Excellence Scholarship National Merit/Achievement Semifinalist/Finalist Award
- Award Amount:
Currently valued at $38,960 ($9,740 per year--includes average cost of double-occupancy room in a campus residence hall currently valued at $3,950 per year). Non-Resident students will also receive a full non-resident scholarship currently valued at $9006 per year. Finalist may receive additional awards. This scholarship is awarded in lieu of the Academic Excellence Scholarship.

National Hispanic Recognition Award
- Award Amount: $8,000 ($2,000 / year)
- Eligibility: Entering freshmen who are named to the College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program after taking the PSAT/NMSQT. This award can be stacked with Academic Excellence unless a student is designated a National Merit Semi-Finalist or Finalist, in which case the upgraded Finalist/Semi-finalist packages apply instead.

Chinese Language Flagship Scholarships
- Award Amount: Up to $24,000 for summer study and capstone year in China
- Eligibility:
Entering freshmen with strong academic records who demonstrate a commitment to achieve superior proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (most students selected for the Flagship Program will begin with eight weeks of intensive Chinese study in June prior to freshman year, will spend 9 weeks of study in China in summer following their freshman year, may study in China again in the summer following their sophomore year, will study at Nanjing University in fall semester of their senior year, and will complete a full-time internship in China in spring of their senior year). Ole Miss Opportunity Program
- Eligibility: To be eligible for Ole Miss Opportunity in 2012-13, you must be a Mississippi resident, U.S. citizen, an entering freshman at the start of the fall 2012 semester, seeking a degree and enrolled full time at Ole Miss. In addition, you must meet the following criteria:

Academic Common Market (ACM) Scholarship
- Program Description: The Academic Common Market (ACM) is a cooperative agreement allowing residents of a participating state to pursue academic degree programs not offered in their home states without having to pay out-of-state tuition charges. The 16 participating states include AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA and WV.
- Award Amount: Participation in ACM at Ole Miss allows qualified students to receive a scholarship that covers the non-resident fee in full (currently valued at $9,006 per academic year). As a result, participants pay the in-state tuition only, similar to MS residents. (Please note that this award cannot be combined with any other award that specifically pays for the non-resident fee.)
- Eligibility: Non-resident students from a state participating in ACM. Must major in one of the following degree programs: Bachelor of Science in Forensic Chemistry OR Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering. Eligibility for programs offered by The University of Mississippi is determined by the state in which the student resides. All states and/or degree programs within ACM are not necessarily approved at the undergraduate level at The University of Mississippi. Students should use the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) website to determine whether they will be eligible for ACM.

Child of Faculty and Staff
- Award Amount: One-half tuition per semester (full tuition per semester for those children of parents employed before July 1, 1977 )
