Priscilla Conerly, 18, of Jayess only applied to one university: Ole Miss. She said after reading information about the Women’s Council, she knew it was the organization for her.
“I liked the idea of making a whole new community,” the freshman business major said. “Communities aren’t family oriented any more and I want to change that. The program was a nice extension of what I was thinking already.”
Conerly said after getting her first degree, she wants to go to law school and become a corporate lawyer.
“I want to help businesses and prevent them from being sued by greedy people,” she said. “I want my work to keep everything in balance.”
While in the corporate world, Conerly said she wants to work in her hometown to rebuild the community.
“I want to see more community centers and after-school programs so the youth will be able to go to college and have access to the things I’ve had access to.”
