Amanda Harmon
Amanda Harmon, 18, of Olive Branch knows what she
wants in life. Applying only to Ole Miss, Harmon has
set her goals high.
“The first day of senior year
in high school I decided to fund my own college
education,” said Harmon. “I knew I was going to have
to work hard to get where I wanted.”
Once learning about the Women’s
Council, she said she was determined to be part of
such an outstanding organization. She even hand
delivered her application to the Women’s Council,
and her persistence paid off very well.
Harmon said her future plans
are to obtain a degree in journalism and possibly
become a public relations practitioner for the
government. Her contributions to the Women’s
Council will be very beneficiary towards her career
goals.
“This is not just a
scholarship, its experience and leadership
opportunities for after I graduate,” said Harmon.
“I have been really looking for avenues of service
for college and the Women’s Council has given me the
chance to start my own service. I am very excited.”
Harmon also said “The Women’s
Council has set a standard for me and I plan to help
fund the Women’s Council long after my years are
over at Ole Miss.” |
