Kimberly Wilks

Kimberly Wilks, 18, of Oakland says she is lost for words when thinking about how the Women’s Council has helped her.  In 2001, Kimberly’s sister, Jennifer was also the recipient of the Women’s Council scholarship.

“Going to college has been made so much easier with the help of these fine ladies,” said Kimberly Wilkes.  “It’s amazing they are able to not only help my sister go to college, but me as well.  I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

She plans to attain a degree in educational psychology while at Ole Miss and hopes to become a counselor for high school students upon graduation.

“I love to help people.  I spend a lot of my free time mentoring students within the high school now,” said Kimberly Wilks.

Kimberly Wilks plans on giving back to the Women’s Council as much as she can.  An active student in high school as president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, member of the student council, and captain of the basketball team, Kimberly Wilkes said, “I want to bring my leadership, new ideas and would also like to help publicize the Women’s Council as much as possible.”
