Ashley Renee Perryman

Ashley Perryman, 18, from Philadelphia was undecided about where to attend college and was leaning toward another Mississippi institution. However, after hearing about the Ole Miss Women’s Council, she made plans for school in Oxford.

“I love it here,” said the freshman accounting major. “Everything is completely changed in my mind; this school is more suited for me.

Perryman said while at Ole Miss, she plans to work with the Institute for Racial Reconciliation to change various aspects at the school.

“I would like to see Ole Miss be more diverse and work together,” she said. “The leadership-mentorship skills that the Ole Miss Women’s Council is providing will help me work with the racial problem at this campus and to reconcile the problem.”

Perryman said after graduating, she wants to become a CPA and take her lessons from the OMWC into the world.

“A big part of accounting is strong ethics. You also have to have leadership in anything you do. It’s like salt and pepper. They just go together.”
