Jessica West
Jessica West, 18, of
Water Valley never considered attending any school
other than Ole Miss, and when she heard about the
opportunities in the Women’s Council, it only
reinforced her decision.
“It seemed like a
really good way to meet people and be a part of
something that was special,” said the biology major.
“It helps teach leadership skills and other things
you will need in life.”
After graduating from
Ole Miss, West plans to go to medical school and
become a doctor.
“I want to open my own
family practice,” she said. “I just want to help
people and make the world a better place.”
West said she would
take the leadership and mentorship skills she
learned from the OMWC and apply them in her career.
She also said she wants to return to Ole Miss later
and be involved with the Women’s Council.
“I would love to be
able to come back and help out with the program and
be a mentor.” |
