Christine Wilson
Music education
brought Christine Wilson, 19, of Fulton to Ole Miss,
where she discovered the added bonus of leadership
training through the Ole Miss Women’s Council.
“I don’t think there’s
any place I would enjoy more,” said Wilson, a
sophomore music major specializing in vocal
performance. “I’ve gotten to meet so many
interesting people. Women’s Council is opening my
eyes and makes me want to make things better.”
After completing her
degree, Wilson would like to move to the West Coast
and open a studio to teach students voice skills and
prepare them for auditions.
“There are so many
kids who have the potential, but they don’t have
anyone to work with them,” she said. “Maybe they’ll
love it as much as I do, and they’ll wind up doing
what I do.”
Wilson is minoring in
theater arts and plans to pursue a career in both
music and theater.
“I want to make people
happy, and I think that’s why most people start
performing. I want to keep that focus and keep
performing because that’s what I love to do. I want
to inspire other people to do it.” |
