Meredith Creekmore
A native of Sardis, Mississippi, Meredith Creekmore
is an administrative assistant for Telapex, Inc./Cellular South
in Jackson. Before joining Telapex, she taught school and tutored
students. A 1964 graduate of The University of Missisippi, she earned
a bachelor's degree in education and in 1968, a master's degree
with emphasis on child development.
An active participant in the community, Creekmore
currently volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, the Community Stewpot
and St. Andrews Episcopal Cathedral's partnership with Rowan Middle
School, where she provides special learning experiences and has
tutored and mentored. Previous volunteer experience includes membership
in the Junior League, where she was chair of the Learning Disabilities
Project for Jackson Public Schools; treasurer and community vice
president; and served on the ways and means committees. Over the
years, she and her husband, Jimmy Creekmore, have been involved
in fund-raising for several non-profit organizations, including
the Heart Association, Kidney Foundation and the Eudora Welty Library.
