Celia Carter Muths
Celia Carter Muths remains deeply involved with her alma mater
The University of Mississippi. She is a member of the University
Foundation board, and she co-chaired the recently completed Commitment
to Excellence Campaign the most successful fund-raising effort
in the history of the university. Muths also is involved in community
work in her hometown, Gulfport, Miss. She is a life member of the
Gulfport Junior Auxiliary, the Gulfport Jaycettes and the Four Seasons
Garden Club, and member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where
she serves on the alter guard worship committee and is interim organist.
Muths also participates in the Gulf Coast chapter of DAR, TIPS Investment
Club and Reveler and Merry Maskers carnival organization.
Muths earned at bachelor's degree in music in 1959. While attending
Ole Miss, she served on the Mortar Board, the Committee of 100 and
was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota professional women's music fraternity,
the Ole Miss "Y" organization and Chi Omega sorority.
