Considering the importance and
complexities of high-quality health care in today’s society, it is
critical for bright, talented young people to be encouraged to
pursue professions in the field.
With that in mind, Baptist Memorial
Health Care Foundation of Memphis has endowed a Women’s Council
Scholarship designated for students interested in health care
careers.
“The Baptist Memorial Health Care
Foundation felt it was important to make this donation because the
funds will support some of our future leaders in their efforts to
earn a high-quality education,” said Jim VanderSteeg, administrator
and CEO of Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.
“The Ole Miss Women’s Council for
Philanthropy presented the Foundation board with an exciting way to
help students financially as well as nurture them through mentoring
programs and hands-on experience,” VanderSteeg said. “Baptist
Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi is committed to helping the
communities we serve, not only by providing high-quality care within
our hospital but also by remaining a strong community partner and
helping people outside our hospital walls.”
The Baptist Memorial Health Care
Foundation is the charitable arm of Baptist Memorial Health Care
Corporation, a not-for-profit organization. Funds raised by the
Foundation help to accomplish the charitable care objectives of the
Corporation and provides resources for enhanced patient care,
education, and groundbreaking clinical research.
