The mission of the Graduate School is to provide leadership, coordination, and administrative structure to support all graduate programs at the University. This office functions as the central University entity for students, faculty, and staff involved in graduate education. It also is responsible for implementation of Graduate School policy to assure compliance with standards, quality, and integrity among all of the graduate programs.

  • The Graduate School would like to congratulate Chris Danielson, who was awarded The 2008 Franklin L. Riley Prize from the Mississippi Historical Society for his dissertation "The Voting Rights Act and the Creation of Black Politics in Mississippi, 1965-1986."

Graduate Orientation 2009

Nutt Auditorium 8:30 - 2 p.m.

We are pleased that you have selected University of Mississippi Graduate School for your graduate studies and look forward to having you on our campus this fall. As a new graduate student, you are encouraged to attend our orientation program.  Orientation will include a variety of speakers, whom will provide information about campus resources, computing services, and other topics. Following the lunch in the grove, students will have an optional opportunity to take a guided tour of the campus or to meet with their Graduate Program Coordinators or take care of web ids, parking permits, and any other last minute details regarding registration.

Orientation will be held in Nutt Auditorium, which is located on University Avenue just across from the Gertrude C. Ford Center . Parking permits will be mailed or emailed once you register. Signs will be in place to help you. Registration and Sign in will be from 8-8:30 am with the program beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m.  We encourage you to arrive early to avoid the last-minute rush of attendees.


Online Registration must be completed by Friday, AUGUST 7, 2009.
