Recruitment 2007 Information

Welcome to Ole Miss! The Ole Miss Greek Community has long been known for its reflection of traditional values such as scholarship, leadership, friendship, and community service. The Greek letter fraternities and sororities affiliated with our University have built a strong reputation for upholding these principles. As you consider joining a chapter at Ole Miss, remember that you are taking on additional responsibilities to that of your higher education goals on campus. This means while it is OK to explore the social benefits of becoming a member, you must realize that that aspect is only part of the obligation of joining. You will also be challenged to maintain high scholastic standards, coordinate and support various philanthropic events such as community service and fundraising, and take advantage of other leadership opportunities on campus. The Office of Greek Life, the alumni, and current students will expect you to continue the positive legacy that has been established. Commit yourself to these ideals before joining, and you will have the opportunity to significantly enhance your “outside the classroom” education.

I hope your experience here at Ole Miss will be rich and rewarding. Please consider the Greek Life Office as a resource where you can find answers to questions or concerns you might have. We look forward to meeting you, and please drop in and see us anytime in Union 422!

Ben Williams
