Recycling in the Grove and Circle
Tailgaters can place their plastic bottles and aluminum cans within designated recycling bins located throughout the Grove and Circle. Only plastics #1 and #2 are recyclable. To find out what type of plastic the container is, look on the bottom for the recycling symbol and a number.
In addition to utilizing these recycling bins , you can now recycle at your individual tent. Here is how it works:
- Take a plastic recycling bag provided at one of the two conveniently located dispensers. One dispenser is located in front of the student union and the other is by the statue in the Circle.
- Place plastic bottles (#1 and #2) and aluminum cans in the clear bag at your tent . (Remember no food , food containers, or solo cups)
- After cleaning your tent area, simply leave the bag at your tent location. We take care of the rest!
Recycling in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
Inside the stadium, plastic water and soft drink bottles (plastics #1 or #2) are recyclable. No glass or aluminum containers are allowed or used inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, so the recycling bins collect plastic water and soft drink bottles only. The commemorative cups are currently not recyclable (Plastic #5) and should be considered a reusable container that we encourage everyone to take home with them following the game.
In the stadium clear stream recycling bins are positioned throughout the stadium near each major entrance, and concession stands areas.
What is not recyclable
One of the largest facilitators of waste on gamedays are non-recyclable cups. The commertotive cups sold in the stadium are meant to be taken home and re-used. The red-solo cup is also not recyclable. Glass is also not recyclable.
