Virus Removal

The IT Helpdesk has several antivirus and antispyware tools available to download for all students. Please see our Virus Removal page for more information. We also offer virus/spyware removal services at $20 per hour ($80 max charge).

Software 

Symantec AntiVirus: The University of Mississippi offers the corporate edition of Symantec AntiVirus to all students free of charge. To download, simply follow the instructions below:

• Select Student
• Tools and Resources
• Information Technology
• Free Antivirus Software

       Or

• Log into my.olemiss.edu
• Select Free Antivirus Software from the index drop down in the top right

Mathematica: The University of Mississippi provides a free license for Mathematica to all students and faculty/staff. For instructions on downloading and installing Mathematica, please see the Ole Miss Mathematica web site http://www.mcsr.olemiss.edu/appssubpage.php?pagename=mathematica.inc.

SPSS: The University of Mississippi provides a free license of SPSS to all faculty / staff. For instructions on downloading and installing SPSS, please see the Ole Miss SPSS web site http://www.olemiss.edu/depts/it/seminars/guides/spss.html.

Purchase Software for University Machines: To purchase software for University machines, go to the Departmental Software Request page.

Purchase Software for Students: The University has license agreements with several software companies to provide Educational Discounts for Microsoft Office and others. To purchase this software, go to the University of Mississippi IT Partners site, then click e-academy link.
