Student Employment

Purpose

To provide a public access lab in a safe and comfortable environment that meets the computing needs of the University of Mississippi community.

Lab Information

The Galtney Center for Academic Computing located in Weir Hall is maintained by the Office of Information Technology. The computer lab provides free student access to more than 50 computers featuring Windows XP Professional operating systems. Software includes Microsoft Office with Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Other software applications include SPSS, SAS, MathXL, Chemdraw, and Mathematica. The lab also has 12 Macintosh computer systems.

Lab staff are available to provide assistance as needed across the entire spectrum of computer operating systems and application software
