Journalism and Geology Degrees Moved out of the College

Journalism

With the creation of the Meek School of Journalism and New Media in July 2009, the B.A. in Journalism offered through the College of Liberal Arts will be available only to current students who have journalism as a second major.  Any questions regarding having a second major in journalism should be directed to an academic advisor in the Student Services Office in Ventress Hall 103.

The Meek School of Journalism and New Media now offers a new degree program, the B.A.J. in Journalism.  All newly admitted and readmitted students will be automatically admitted into the B.A.J. in Journalism program, and all students changing majors to journalism will be changed to the B.A.J. in Journalism program.  Any questions regarding the B.A.J. in Journalism should be directed to the Dean’s Office of the Meek School of Journalism and New Media in Farley Hall (http://meek.olemiss.edu/contact-us/).

Geology

As of Fall 2010, the B.S. in Geology degree offered through the College officially moved under the administration of the School of Engineering.  If B.S. in Geology students need a dean’s office approval on a form, then they should go to the School of Engineering Dean’s Office in the newly renovated Old Chemistry Building/Brevard Hall.  The Assistant to the Dean for Undergraduate Advising is Marni Kendricks, who may be reached at mckendri@olemiss.edu or 915-5373.
