How To Apply
See information on Admission to the University at the Online Catalog. Apply here. All applicants should submit required materials well in advance of the term in which they intend to enroll. Nonresidents of Mississippi applying for first-year admission for the summer or fall terms should mail all application materials no later than April 1. Applications postmarked after April 1 will be evaluated on a competitive, space-available basis. Students may apply for any semester: fall, spring, intersession, or summer.
Admission decisions are made and notifications are mailed on a rolling basis. For additional information about admission criteria, university scholarships, etc. see the Freshmen or Transfer guides.
In addition to the regular admission requirements for the University, an entrance audition is required for admission to any degree program [including the minor] in the Department of Music. See information under Auditions.
Note also that the application process must be completed and that a student must be admitted (pending the final high school or transfer institution transcript) to the University before a scholarship offer can be made. See information under Scholarships.
