When La Salle's expedition does not return to the mouth of the Mississippi River as he had expected, Henry de Tonty leaves a letter to La Salle with a local Indian tribe.
The letter will be delivered to Pierre Le Moyne, Sieur d'Iberville, fourteen years later.
