1774

[News] West Florida's lieutenant governor estimates the population of West Florida to be 4,900, 3,700 of whom are white and the remaining 1,200 slaves. Over the next few years, the population will surge because a large number of colonists loyal to the English crown move to West Florida to escape the persecution and turmoil of the American Revolution in the older colonies.
