[News] The Georgia state assembly creates the County of Bourbon, which ran continuously west across present-day Alabama and Mississippi until it reached the Mississippi River. Land speculator come to the Natchez area in hope of using the Georgia law to substantiate their land claims, but the scheme is blocked when both the Spanish and American governments oppose the law.
